Every fest the campus turns up to runs on something built the night before.

Six rooms, one society: Web Development, App Development, Game Development, AI and ML, Design, and Game Engine Development. We build the fest sites the whole campus registers on, the apps that open on every phone during Waves and Quark, and the small tools that fix a Tuesday. Nobody here is paid and nothing here is a mock-up.

The flywheel

Six verticals on one wheel. Every one of them ships.

R-01

Web Development

You would own three pages of a fest site, and the one that breaks at one in the morning is yours.

R-02

App Development

You would ship a build to a hundred phones, then read the crash log over breakfast.

R-03

Game Development

You would finish something small. A jam build with a start screen and a loss state, which is harder than it sounds.

R-04

AI and ML

You would turn a photo of a timetable into a calendar, and then handle the blurry ones, which is the actual job.

R-05

Design

You would draw the thing everyone argues about, and then draw it again after they argue.

R-06

Game Engine Development

You would work below the framework. C++, memory, and the parts nobody demos.

Shipped. Every window lit.

The log

Fest websites the whole campus registers on. Apps that open on every phone during Waves and Quark. Tools that fix a Tuesday.

The coordinators

Questions

Everything people actually ask, and the answers we give them in person.

  1. The Developers' Society of BITS Pilani, Goa. Six rooms: Web Development, App Development, Game Development, AI and ML, Design, and Game Engine Development. We build the software the campus runs on.

  2. Anyone on campus, from any discipline, at any level. If you want to build things, walk in.

  3. Once a year you walk in for an interview. You join as crew, learn from seniors, and move to core after a while.

  4. Write to the coordinators. We take exceptional cases through the year.

  5. No. Beginners and experienced developers sit in the same room. We teach.

  6. Fest websites and apps for Waves and Quark, DevFest, workshops, hackathons, and projects members bring in.

  7. Yes. Most of our best work started as someone's side project.

  8. Instagram and LinkedIn for announcements. This site for the list, the log and the team.

The night shift is always short one person.
